Influence of Poultry Litter Biochar on Some Properties and Carbon Mineralization in Acidic Soil

During the last years, biochar (BC) from various organic wastes and its application to soil improve properties have been a very common treatment in agricultural soils. While many studies conducted on effects of improvement alkaline soils, acid soils are limited. An incubation experiment was investigate poultry litter (PLBC) acidic C mineralization. Biochar derived through slow pyrolysis mixed with three different doses (0, 2, 5%) subjected 120-day period. pH increased 4.38 5.31 at end incubation. Electrical conductivity (EC) values also increased. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emission reached maximum 30th day control PLBC applied soil. matter (OM) content Values were 3.51%, 4.70%, 6.27% for control, 2% 5% treatments, respectively. does an increasing negative priming effect carbon (C) mineralization Particulate (POM) storage (OC) POM fraction both applications.
